Fast Friends Doggy Daycare and Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption is looking for several hard-working, energetic dog lovers to join our growing team!

KENNEL ASSISTANT

The idea candidate for this position:

  •  is comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels.

  • excels as a member of a team that works closely together.

  • is a good communicator with coworkers and customers.

  • multi-tasks well and is not distracted easily.

  • follows detailed instructions but also is proactive and willing to bring new ideas to the team.

This team member will care for both dogs who come to Doggy Daycare & Boarding and the retired racing Greyhounds waiting for adoption. A typical day may include greeting customers, supervising dogs in play groups, cleaning kennels, preparing meals, walking dogs, and other duties that keep the facility running smoothly.

Must have reliable transportation and be able to work outdoors in all weather.

Job type: Full-time, some evenings and weekends required. 

RECEPTIONIST

Fast Friends is looking for a front desk receptionist passionate about dogs and building relationships with customers to join our diverse team. This staff member will interact with customers in person, on the phone, and via email, handle dogs of all sizes and breeds, and work closely with other team members to help ensure a positive customer experience and smooth running of the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones and respond to questions or direct caller to appropriate staff member

  • Take reservations and payments both in-person, online, and via phone

  • Follow-up calls and reminders, including collecting payments when needed

  • Check customers in and out

  • Respond to email inquiries 

  • Greet customers, volunteers, and visitors

  • Give tours of Doggy Daycare and Boarding to prospective customers

  • Communicate with Volunteer Coordinator and Greyhound staff to promptly greet volunteers and guide them to assigned tasks

  • Sort incoming donations, collecting donor information and passing it along to correct staff member

  • Sign for and distribute packages and deliveries

  • Make sure the following areas are orderly and maintained: lobby, visiting room, supply closet, filing area, lobby bathroom

  • Keep lobby supplied with informational and marketing materials

  • Keep inventory of office supplies and request reorders as needed

  • Provide administrative and office support as needed or required

Working Conditions

Normally sitting with freedom of movement on a regular basis. Will spend time on a desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Ability to communicate face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing. Requires strong interpersonal skills. Frequent physical activity required including walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and squatting.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1 year of experience working in a related position

Job type: part-time, alternating weekends required

CANINE REHABILITATION THERAPIST

Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption is looking for an experienced canine rehabilitation practitioner passionate about animal care to join our diverse team. This staff member will work with client dogs of all breeds as well as the retired racing Greyhounds and rescued sighthounds available for adoption. The right person will have the opportunity to build a canine physical therapy and rehabilitation business with access to a water treadmill and exercise space.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement treatment plans

  • Monitor response to prescribed therapies and record changes in patient status

  • Update records in a timely manner

  • Maintain treatment areas in accordance with protocols

  • Communicate with clients, referring veterinarians, and other staff members

  • Participate in public events where hydrotherapy can be promoted to clients, potential clients or referring veterinarians

  • Remain current in animal rehabilitation services and therapies

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

Ability to communicate face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing. Requires strong interpersonal skills. Periodic physical activity required including walking, climbing, bending, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and squatting.

  • Proficiency in low stress handling techniques

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Associates Degree in veterinary technology or a related field

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant

  • CCRP or CCRA preferred; or eligible and interested in pursuing certification

  • Canine CPR and first aid certified
