While well accepted by the other cats in our family, Dancer and our gray tabby, Tony, quickly developed a close bond. After only a few weeks, they already trust each other enough to play and chase each other around the house!  Whoever said that greyhounds weren't good with cats! This Greyhound has turned out to be the perfect dog for our family.

Dancer was adopted by
Joan and David del Genio
and their son, Carmen, on February 29, 2008.

Dear Fast Friends,

I’m writing this to you as another cold morning is upon us in Ottawa, Ontario. Will spring ever arrive this year? Surprise, surprise, Mr. Grey is fast asleep at the foot of my bed. I came down to meet Mr. Grey in early February of 2008 and was instantly taken by his gentle and loving nature and his playful spirit. He came home with me that very night and even to my amazement, it was as though he had been a pet all of his life. Adapting to life in a house seemed as second nature to him. He quickly learned about windows and shiny floors and is making steady progress on those VERY intimidating stairs. He is a complete gentleman and pleasure to have around. Oh, and lets not forget his love of tennis balls and squeak toys (squeak, squeak).

Thanks Fast Friends!

Dear Fast Friends,

We learned about Tazzy, and how painfully shy he was.  We knew that we'd pulled Crockie (one of our other greys) out of his shell, so we felt confident we could do the same for Tazzy. When we went to pick up Taz, we met Robbie, and were then torn between which boy to bring home. I felt we really owed it to Tazzy to give him a loving, safe forever home, plus, Robbie wasn't supposed to be cat safe. Tazzy became ours Memorial Day 2007. He settled in right away and is now Jeff's "velcro dog". We kept thinking about Robbie though, sort of the misfit wild-child. Sharron kept telling us that Robbie was really missing Tazzy, as they'd been buddies at the kennel. Tazzy seemed to miss Robbie too. We decided to foster Robbie to see if he fit in with our 2 cats. He chased the cats a couple of times, and that was really it. We adopted Robbie on August 14th, his 4th birthday!

Dear Fast Friends,

We can't thank all of you enough for Katie. She has completed our family, and as you can see in the photo, her new best buddy is Daniel. Daniel has always been very shy and reserved and Katie has brought out a personality we have never seen before! After 5 months with us, Katie's personality is really beginning to emerge and she is learning to play and loving it!!  Once again, our sincerest thanks to you for Katie and for all the work you do for all the greyhounds.

Rick, Susan and Daniel Lee

Hello Fast Friends,

Enclosed are some pictures of Frankie (Duval) for your amusement. He’s doing just great. He’s actually starting to hang around in the kitchen when I’m preparing meals — turning into a bit of a mooch, just like a regular dog! Took him long enough, but we’re curbing that particular behaviour. Frankie’s funny — he loves me and Phoebe, but he LOVES his Daddy!!! Lots of crying when Bret is off to work or anytime he leaves the house. Frankie pines for a bit then kind of settles down for the long wait til Bret returns. Truly a match made in heaven.

Take care,
Carol Urofsky
