Dear Greyhound Friend,

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support in 2007. This year has been a watershed year for Fast Friends. Besides continuing our work to adopt out greyhounds in our area, we have been able to take over the care of more than 100 dogs from the Hinsdale Greyhound Park in Hinsdale, NH. It has been a monumental undertaking, requiring huge amounts of man-hours and money. But with the support of local businesses, veterinarians, volunteers and staff, as of right now, we now have ownership of and are now caring for 111 dogs.

The park had gone seasonal with their greyhound racing, leaving nearly 200 dogs at the kennels with no place to go. Fast Friends contacted the track management and negotiated with them so that we could take control of these dogs. Our goal is to get them properly vetted and socialized before placing them with other greyhound adoption groups.

Fast Friends has taken one of the kennel buildings at the track and completely renovated it by tearing out the walls down to the studs and replacing them with new, mold and insect-resistant wall board, painting the floors and building new, larger crates to house the greys. However, this situation is temporary until we can find a place to call our permanent home.

Now these dogs are well cared-for while they await their forever homes. They are walked and exercised every day. They have soft, warm bedding, play time, toys to play with, good, nutritious food, and lots of treats.

All this has cost a lot of money. Without the support of good people like you, we wouldn’t be able to undertake such a task. Please give generously again this year. Your donation of $50 will buy two bags of dog food. (We use high-quality food to help the dogs transition and to put weight on them). Your donation of $100 will pay for a complete vet visit for one of our dogs, $200 will buy rabies vaccines for 20 dogs.

Once again, we need your help to continue our work. These dogs have given their all and need just a little love and care from us. Thank you for your continued support.
